Right now, the company is looking for an Editor to join their team of travel and editorial enthusiasts.
This role will be focused on editing evergreen articles, recruiting and managing freelance writers, and working on content programs with the full editorial team. You’ll work directly with the Owner and Operations Manager to develop, edit, and update travel articles, ensuring that the content is accurate, up to date, and comprehensive. You will also be responsible for writing articles and making sure the Editorial team meets weekly/monthly publishing goals.
As the new Editor, you’ll need to:
- Assign, edit, and publish evergreen articles
- Recruit, onboard, and manage a pool of freelance travel writers
- Understand the brand’s style and edit with the brand voice top of mind
- Edit work to ensure alignment with article templates and content briefs
- Create article templates for certain topic areas
- Work with the editorial team to help shape and define editorial strategy, increase audience, and drive user engagement
- Track issues that arise and discuss possible solutions with team members
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to shared content goals and strategy
Tools you’ll use:
- Asana for project management
- Slack for communication
- Google Docs for writing articles
- Google Sheets for spreadsheets
- WordPress for publishing articles
- Skype/Zoom for video meetings/interviews
You’ll need to manage the writers each day, and will be expected to have a weekly meeting with each writer. Occasionally, you will work together with the Ops Manager to improve workflows and optimize processes, and will also report to the owner with daily status updates. Seeing that communication is crucial for any remote team, you can also expect monthly meetings where you’ll go over the company plans and team goals.
This is a fully remote full-time role. For the most part, you’ll be able to choose the hours and days you want to work, however, the majority of hours should overlap with a period from 9 AM Indochina time to 4 PM Indochina time. This will allow the entire team to communicate quickly and easily.
To be a successful candidate, you need:
- Excellent spoken and written English skills
- Direct experience as an Editor
- Management experience of any kind
- Experience with WordPress
- Experience with Grammarly
Brownie points if you’ve read books on management or attended any management training!

The company is looking for someone who places a high value on time and understands the importance of delegation. As you’ll need to hire and manage an entire team of writers, you also need to be fair and direct. You’ll need to be accountable and hold those reporting to you accountable.
